Dog Policy - Terms and Conditions

The following is the pet policy of Lafayette Village Associates, LLC which was developed in keeping with federal law. The purpose of this policy is to provide standards to insure the best possible environment for both pet owners and non-pet owners and to insure the responsible care of pets. By entering the property of The Village, you accept these terms and conditions without limitation.  

 

All dogs shall be allowed on the property of the Lafayette Village Associates, LLC d/b/a The Shoppes At Lafayette, commonly referred to as The Village.  The size of pets is not specifically limited.  Service dogs, as recognized by federal and state regulations are allowed in all stores within the guidelines of the federal and state regulations.  Therapy dogs and other dogs are allowed on the outdoor property of The Village and in the stores as allowed or designated by the store tenants/owners. 

Dog owners are advised not to leave their dogs in their vehicles; the State Police will be notified if it is determined that a dog is left inside a car for an extended period of time.

 

Dog owners must be able to maintain control over their pets at all times.  Dogs shall be restrained (dogs must be on leash or in a carrier) when on The Village property.  

 

Dog owners shall be liable for all damage caused by their Dogs. Dog owner will restrain and prevent the pet from gnawing, chewing, scratching or otherwise defacing the doors, walls, windows and floor coverings in the common area, buildings, landscaping and shrubs.

 

Dog owner will Immediately remove, clean up and appropriately dispose of any pet feces and waste deposited by the owner’s dog on the common grounds, shrubs, flower beds, sidewalks, accessways, parking lots and streets of the project. 

 

Dog owner shall exercise proper restraint of a dog so as to prevent it from becoming a nuisance to any customer or store tenant. The dog shall be maintained and properly licensed and inoculated as required by local, county or state statute, ordinance or health code.  Dogs will wear an identification collar at all times with appropriate License and health tags.

 

Dogs of vicious or dangerous disposition shall not be permitted. Any dog duly determined to constitute under state or local law as a nuisance or threat may be required to be immediately removed.

 

A dog will not be permitted to disturb the health, safety, rights, comfort or peaceful and quiet enjoyment of other customers.

 

Dogs except service animals will not be permitted to enter eating or gathering areas, Dogs except service animals will not enter areas designated as no-pet areas by the property owner or the individual store tenant/owner.
